In the coming months, AMC/NOMA will provide educational materials to member physicians on the importance of the 2004 Ohio Supreme Court races. This is a major priority for the AMC/NOMA, as it is critical to maintain the balance in the Ohio Supreme Court. The AMC/NOMA has already met with Justice O'Donnell and Judge Lanzinger and we will be having ongoing discussions in the future.
AMC/NOMA's political action committee, NOMPAC, works hard to help elect candidates to public office that understand the issues and problems faced by physicians. The AMC/NOMA has begun working this year to support the campaign efforts of U.S. Senator George Voinovich as well as other state legislative candidates. As we have already outlined, NOMPAC will also be working to support the election efforts of three Ohio Supreme Court candidates, including Chief Justice Tom Moyer, Justice Terrence O'Donnell, and Judge Judith Lanzinger. All AMC/NOMA members must take the initiative to become involved in the legislative and political arenas. Information will be made available in the coming months and we encourage physicians to participate in these important endeavors.
