AMA Introduces Medical Liability Reform Kit for Physicians

The American Medical Association has introduced a new "Action Kit" on Medical Liability Reform to help mobilize physicians and patients to get involved.  The kit is a key component of the AMA's campaign to pass meaningful medical liability reform legislation in Congress and includes tools to help physicians to educate and motivate patients on the issue. Tools included in the kit are:  talking points providing a brief overview of the issue; a sample letter to patients containing language to use when talking with patients on the subject; wall posters for high-traffic areas highlighting how the medical liability crisis is affecting patients' access to care; and patient brochures and easel displays including sign-up charts to receive regular issue updates via regular mail, e-mail or fax.  For more information or to obtain the kit visit the AMA Web site at, http://www.ama-assn.org/grassroots or call the AMA Grassroots Hotline at 1-800-833-6354.
