AMA names new Executive VP/CEO, Dr. Michael D. Maves

     The American Medical Association has named Michael D. Maves, MD, MBA as their new executive vice president and chief executive officer. Dr. Maves brings extensive medical and association management experience to his new AMA position.  He has served as executive vice president of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Inc. from 1994-99 and most recently, headed the Consumer Healthcare Products Association in Washington, DC.  Dr. Maves will assume his new position beginning January 15, 2002.
