AMA COMPILES LIST OF PHYSICIAN VOLUNTEERS

The AMA announced today it is compiling a list of physicians who wish to volunteer their services in wake of today's terrorist attacks. The AMA is currently reaching out to local authorities in New York and Washington, D.C., to inquire about the need for physician services. If supporting physician services are needed the AMA will share the names and phone numbers of physicians who express interest. Physicians interested in volunteering their services are asked to e-mail their name, medical specialty and contact information to mike_lynch@ama-assn.org or call (312) 464-4584 or (312) 464-4422.

Members of the public interested in volunteering, especially those interested in donating blood, should call the American Red Cross at 1-800-448-3543.
