CDC encourages physicians to continue offering flu vaccine

The Center for Disease Control is encouraging physicians to offer the influenza flu vaccine to their patients throughout the month of December and beyond, for as long as the vaccine is available.  October and November are the optimal months for vaccination, but sufficient quantities of the vaccine, at that time, were unavailable to meet the demand.  As a result, many individuals, age 65 and over, with medical conditions placing them at high risk for complications from influenza, remain unvaccinated.
