CMS Announces Hospital Outpatient PPS Proposed Rule

     The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has recently announced that the proposed rule "Medicare Program; Changes to the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System and calendar year 2003 Payment Rates; and Changes to Payment Suspension for Unfilled Cost Reports" went on display the Office of the Federal Register on Tuesday, August 6, 2002.  The proposed rule may be viewed on the CMS website, http://cms.hhs.gov/regulations/hopps/ .  Introductory pages of the proposed rule will give instructions on how to submit comments during the 60-day public comment period, closing October 7, 2002.
